10 Benefits of Saturday Massage!

On average, there are 730 hours in a month. When you invest 30 minutes a month in Indian head massage, it can help you can improve their physical, mental and emotional health.

10. Massage is a natural pain reliever.   If you have tense muscles or headaches after your long week at work, a 30 minute massage helps the body to naturally control pain by stimulating the brain to produce endorphins.

9. Massage helps boost immunity.   Massage therapy can increase your body’s natural ability to protect itself and keep you healthy, building your resilience to stress.  Indian head massage will improve the flow of lymph, a bodily fluid that fights infection and disease.

8. Massage helps relieve stress.   An Indian head massage can bring your body and mind into a relaxation state.   It also raises the body’s production and release of endorphins.   These are stress and pain preventing hormones that enhance mood and boost immunity.   Reducing your stress levels will help your current mental and physical health, while preventing potential diseases or stress-related conditions.

7. Massage helps improve posture and flexibility.   Indian head massage loosens and relaxes muscles in the shoulders, neck and head, which relieves pressure points and gives joints a greater range of motion.   Once pressure points are relieved, the body can position itself properly and develop a natural posture that doesn’t cause pain.

6. Massage helps lower blood pressure.   Regular massages have been found to lower blood pressure, by reducing the stress-hormone levels that can cause onset depression, anxiety and anger.   Being pain-and stress-free will greatly affect your blood pressure and allow you to relax your mind.

5. Massage helps relax muscles and mind.   Indian head massage activates the body’s parasympathetic nervous system that controls its ability to feel good.   It loosens and relaxes tense, overworked muscles by breaking up adhesions that cause discomfort.   In addition to relaxing your body, Indian head massage also calms a racing mind

4. Massage helps you breathe easier.   Indian head massage helps relax the respiratory muscles, which can tighten during the busyness of a busy workload, long hours and stress.   Breathing easier means your respiratory system works better, giving you more energy.

3. Massage is better than a holiday!   No sunburn, no long flights and no groping airport security.   There’s no stress of planning what to do on your holiday, you just lie back, close your eyes, and relax!   You won’t come back feeling like you “need a holiday after your holiday”.

2. Getting a massage is like a week full of Sundays!   A 30 minute massage on a weekly or even on a monthly basis, can help you recharge for the coming week or month ahead.

1. Investing 30 minutes a month in your health by getting an Indian head massage can help you sleep better, boost your immune system, increase your energy levels, build resilience to stress, be more productive, be happier and generally improve your physical, mental and emotional health!

A quote from Leonardo da Vinci gives me food for thought, “Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.”

My Three Best Customers

My three best customers, at the moment, are a housewife with fibromyalgia, a woman in her 30’s and a woman over 60.

One of my best customers is a woman with fibromyalgia. She was feeling frustrated and at her wits end. Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain illness that can be described as arthritis of the muscles. The pain meant she found it difficult to walk or to do housework and she was tired and frustrated. I give her an Indian head massage and Reiki treatment every 1-2 weeks. After receiving regular treatments, the pain has become easier to manage and she’s feeling happier and less stressed.

The woman in her 30’s comes to me to help her cope with the busyness of life. She gives me a call every month. When she rings, she’s feeling overwhelmed, busy and fatigued. I bring my chair to her home and give her a thirty minute Indian head massage. To help create a relaxing atmosphere, I have gentle music playing in the background. She sits on the chair, and I ask her to close her eyes, and to give herself permission to relax for the next thirty minutes. After the massage, she feels relaxed, sleepy and chilled out. After a good night’s sleep, the next day she feels focused and able to handle the busyness of life again.

My next best customer is a woman in her 60’s. She tried an Indian head massage in September and has been getting a monthly massage since. She finds that the massage helps her arthritis and just makes her feel great. This month, she’s decided to get a massage every second week as she enjoys them so much and they make her feel so good.

Reiki for Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a special time for a woman and her family.   A pregnant woman goes through many changes, in her body, her mind, and in the way she may react and deal with situations. These changes can often add new stresses to the lives of busy pregnant women.

Quite often, what triggers stress isn’t the problem, but how a person deals with it.   Stress management means using coping skills that allows for a healthy relaxation and gives the body a chance to get back to a balanced state.

Reiki is very beneficial for pregnant women.  It’s a non-invasive, gentle treatment.  Reiki is a form of energy work tht calms the body’s stress response and relaxes the nervous system.   A session involves working with the energy around the body as well as hand placements that effect the flow of energy throughout the body.

Reiki offers pregnant woman a safe, relaxing space to connect with their body and their baby.

The benefits of Reiki include:

  • Reduces tension felt in joints
  • Can help reduce blood pressure
  • Improves immune function
  • Restores energy and reduces fatigue
  • Decreases feelings of anxiety
  • Helps the mother prepare physicall, emotionally and spiritually for the birth
  • Reiki treatment is safe when used to support and not replace medical care.

Relieving Fibromyalgia Pain with Indian Head Massage and Reiki

A woman came to me in January feeling frustrated and at her wits end. She has fibromyalgia, which is a chronic pain illness that can be described as arthritis of the muscles. The pain meant she found it difficult to walk or to do housework and she was tired and frustrated.

I give her an Indian head massage and Reiki treatment every 1-2 weeks. After receiving regular treatments, the pain has become easier to manage and she’s feeling happier and less stressed.

Indian head massage and Reiki helps her by bringing her to a level of deep relaxation where her body and mind relaxes and let’s go for a short while. Stress triggers fibromyalgia and holistic treatments help relieve the stress which in turn relieves the fibromyalgia.

The regular sessions have a cumulative benefit for her health – the more regular the treatments, the better she feels.
